Glass Half Full is a contemporary rock ballad featuring trumpet or flugelhorn. It was written to honour music educator Sharon Fitzsimmins (retired, Barrie North Collegiate Institute, Barrie, Ontario, Canada), whose optimism and positive approach to teaching and life has been an inspiration to all who have known her. The extended improvised solo can be performed by any instrument, although chord symbols are provided only for trumpet and guitar. A written solo for trumpet is provided. Rhythm parts are fully notated. Written ranges: trumpet G5, trombone F4.
